Hi, I’m dr. Laura.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist dedicated to supporting children, adolescents, college-aged and young adults, parents and families. I know that seeking support is a choice that takes a lot of courage, and I’m so glad you have found your way to my page.

I bring a wealth of clinical and research experience to my therapy approach, working with individuals and parents to equip them with the concrete, research-backed skills to manage emotions, behaviors, and relationships.

My clinical expertise is centered around two key areas of specialization:

  •  Individual therapy and consultation with children, teens, and young adults

  •  Therapy and consultation with parents

and caregivers of children ages 2 through 20

I believe that your values, strengths, and goals for therapy should set the foundation for our work together. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, primarily Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP), while drawing skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and relational work. I have received extensive training in Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) therapy, and in the treatment of OCD, through the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF)—Behavioral Therapy Training Institute (BTTI).

Education and Training

I earned my Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology, with a specialization in Children, Family and Cultures, from the Catholic University of America. I completed my pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s National Hospital in Washington DC. I also have an extensive research background, having supported studies at Boston Children’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School and New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center prior to graduate school.

I am licensed to practice psychology in Washington DC (#PSY2000032), Maryland (#06299), Maine  (#PS2457), and can provide telehealth in PSYPACT states (APIT 9152)
